Socially Distancing

Some days we need to take a break from the world and isolate ourselves. What better way to unplug, socially distance out on the trail. 8 miles of solitude, peace, nature to unplug! Absolutely not one other soul and the only wildlife was a slug, chipmunk and bunny rabbit. There is so much craziness around us with a fake elected President, media that talks about the violence and negativity, and leaders of our states that love to use scare tactics and control. Nothing to listen to when you isolate yourself away from it all and unplug.
"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order."

—John Burroughs
Today was not climb to the base of a majestic mountain, it was not trekking up a trail to a magnificent waterfall, but a simple "walk in the woods". No people for 8 miles, warm sunshine, no wind and the quiet of the trees. The Pacific Northwest is filled with treasures. We have hundreds of miles of trails and some you can actually venture out to and avoid crowds. What better place to let go of everything and get back to nature and clear the mind, a nice detoxification for the soul.

There is always creeks to cross, trees to awe in their majestic size, fresh air and new wild flowers. The Dogwood trees are glistening the white pedals as they reach for sunlight, tiny wild bleeding heart so small and delicate, and with every change of elevation if you keep your eyes tuned in will find natures blessings. Today on the trail enjoyed simple messages someone previously left on trail markers, making a treasure hunt for another happy message.

" Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." —Albert Einstein
